Will it have you blubbering? Check out the Whalefall trailer plus pics
I feel the Whalefall poster should be on ancient papyrus, such is the longevity of such a headline: “Area man swallowed by whale, escapes”. It looks very tense and scary, though while we do get whales off the British coasts, I have googled and they couldn’t swallow a Brit. Phew. Not sure about the rest… Will it have you blubbering? Arctic 4 stars
A man stranded in the Arctic after a plane crash must decide whether to remain in the relative safety of his makeshift camp or to embark on a deadly trek through the unknown. We don’t even see Overgård’s small plane crash into the icy arctic wilderness. If anyone was with him they’re dead now (I’m… Arctic Read More
Cold Comfort For Mads Mikkelsen In New Arctic Trailer
*** Read my Arctic review (4/5) *** Mikkelsen plays Overgård, a man left stranded in the arctic after his small plane crash lands. Mikkelsen has been lauded for his portrayal, and it’s one I can’t wait to see. Sadly I missed it at the London Film Festival last autumn as I had an injured foot,… Cold Comfort For Mads Mikkelsen In New Arctic Trailer Read More
Adrift 3 stars
I’ll say straight off that Shailene Woodley is terrific in Adrift. She shines as real-life sailor Tami Oldham – determined yet full of self-doubt, footloose yet bound to one person – marooned on a drifting boat in the Pacific in the early 1980s. I’m also going to say straight off that I’m going to spoiler… Adrift Read More
A Quiet Place 4.5 stars
With A Quiet Place, director and co-writer John Krasinski proves himself to be a master of relentless (and I mean relentless) tension, which doesn’t stop until the final frame. This film is only 90 minutes’ long but it’s a 90 minute crescendo of suspense, peppered with shocks and heartbreak. This is a battle for survival,… A Quiet Place Read More
The Mountain Between Us 3 stars
I’m not going to lie, my first thought when Alex and Ben survived the plane crash high up in the wintry mountains, with only a nameless dog and a dead pilot called Walter for company, was who’ll be eaten first: Walter or the labrador. My second thought was, how on earth are they going to… The Mountain Between Us Read More
