Pop Up Screens Are Back for 2018 With Christmas Movies & SNOW!

29th October 2018 by Sarah Leave a Comment

Pop up cinema experts Pop Up Screens are back this winter with Cinema In The Snow – a terrific selection of Christmas and wintry-themed movies running from 13-23 December 2018 at East London’s Hackney Showroom.

As with last year, they’re turning the location into a Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe winter wonderland, complete with coat-filled closet, the famous lamp post, and SNOW.

This year’s old and new classics are The Holiday, Love Actually, Elf, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, The Chronicles Of Narnia, Muppet Christmas Carol, It’s A Wonderful Life, The Santa Clause, Arthur Christmas, and Miracle On 34th Street.

They also offer popcorn, brownies, hot chocolate and mulled wine.

Tickets start at £6 for children and £10 for adults – information and full programme here.

Last year I was invited to see The Muppet Christmas Carol with them (check out my film review here), along with my two boys (then aged 8 and 5).

They were delighted to find Narnia hidden in East London – along with vast quantities of snow that they could play in, throw around, and watch fall from the sky. (And was appearing round my house until about March.)

They also both loved The Muppet Christmas Carol.

My youngest is still singing “we’re Marley and Marley…. WOOAHHHHH!”.

Though I would also like to apologise to the women in front of us who heard him say in a stage whisper near the end “But Mummy you promised Tiny Bob wouldn’t die!”
