UPDATE 05/01/2019: A new teaser trailer has been released ahead of the film’s US release on 11 January. Check it out here along with the other two trailers.
Mad Scientists, here’s a tip – if you’re going to clone someone’s brain it needs to be in a cloned version of the person’s original body, or someone hotter.
Not in a robot that looks like a robot. The moment a dead man “wakes up” inside an android is heartrending.
This is a new trailer for cloning sci-fi horror Replicas, though it’s more of a teaser at only 90 seconds long.
You can see the full-length trailer from last year here, though this time around, they seem to have changed the promotional focus – and it’s much more about Keanu the Mad Scientist than Keanu the Family Man.
Replicas is about synthetic biologist Will Foster who loses his family in a car accident and clones them, before having to go on the run from the police. (And explain to his wife that she’s actually dead.)
Before you watch the teaser (below) I should warn you that if you’re of a nervous editorial disposition you are about to hear the sentence “but what if something horrible goes wrong!” which is a great example of a sentence going horribly wrong.
I’ve no idea when Replicas is coming out – it’s been nearly a year since the first trailer, and the Release Dates info on IMDB only mentions Lithuania and the Netherlands. Maybe it’s heading for on demand everywhere else?
Directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff, Replicas also stars Alice Eve and Thomas Middleditch.
