The Third Murder follows a top lawyer who defends a murder-robbery suspect previously jailed for another murder decades previously.
The man admits his guilt to this new crime, and faces the death penalty, but soon the lawyer starts to wonder if his client is actually responsible.
Written, directed and edited by the award winning Japanese director Kore-eda Hirokazu (After the Storm, Our Little Sister, Like Father, Like Son, Still Walking), the film stars Fukuyama Masaharu, Yakusho Koji and Hirose Suzu. It was nominated for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival 2017.
The Third Murder is released in the UK on 23 March 2018 – review coming nearer the time.
