Patrick Hill is not H’s real name — he’s actually a crime boss himself, heading up a gang who’ve also been known to rob cash trucks. In fact the day Dougie gets shot, the two of them, enjoying some father-son time, stop off because H has to watch the Fortico depot and let his men know which way an emerging cash truck will be travelling.
As the truck drives off it’s stopped by Jackson and his team, disguised as construction men. It is Jan who shoots the two guards dead when one of them goes for his own gun; he then also shoots Dougie, who has been made to get out of H’s car and is lying on the ground. As H runs towards them, he too is shot; lying on the ground, his eyes meet Jan’s.
We see in flashbacks H and his team trying to find out who was responsible for Dougie’s death but they draw a blank everywhere they look. Eventually his employee Mike suggests it must have been an inside job, after which H joins Fortico as a driver, deliberately only just making the grade.
The first time they are subject to an attempted robbery, H kills all their assailants. Weeks later they are attacked again. As H steps out of the back of the van to throw them the money, he removes the cloth over his face — held there to protect himself from the gas their assailants have released — and he is recognised by one of the robbers. It’s Mike, one of his own gangland employees.
Sergeant Jackson and his team are army veterans who fought in Afghanistan. Now back home they feel abandoned and embarrassed by their lack of, or low status, jobs; they also miss the thrill and excitement of war. Initially they rob the house of a millionaire one of their number is working for, but their eventual individual take isn’t impressive. Cash is a better bet. Despite the mistakes of the heist that killed Dougie and the two guards, Jackson plans the big one: a $150 million robbery on Black Friday. Instead of holding up just one truck they go for the depot itself, helped by someone on the inside: Bullet. That day, Bullet and H are driving one of the trucks — Bullet tells H what he is and that if H doesn’t do what he’s told he will be killed.
The depot robbery leaves Dana, Boy Sweat Dave and others dead. Jackson, who is badly injured, escapes with Jan, Bullet and the money to an underground garage served by a network of unmapped tunnels. Jackson takes out his gun while Jan is moving the money from the truck. Jan comes back and disarms Jackson, and kills him. He and Bullet transports the cash on quad bikes to another car. As they move the money again, Bullet goes for his gun to shoot Jan. He’s too slow though, and Jan kills him and escapes with everything.
The film is split into four titled sections: A Dark Spirit; Scorched Earth; Bad Animals, Bad; and Liver, Lungs, Spleen and Heart. All the phrases then appear as dialogue in that section, with the last one the autopsy description of Dougie’s bullet wounds. At the end of the film, Jan is surprised by H in his apartment, who then shoots him in those same places, listing them as he does so. Once Jan is dead H limps out, past Agent King. “Are we done?” asks King. “We’re done,” replies H. King goes into the apartment. H gets into a waiting car and is driven off.
Who is driving the car that picked H up at the end of the film?
I think – because I remember I had the same question as you when I watched it – it’s just one of his men. (It’s a few weeks since I saw it though.) Wikipedia says it’s Mike but I don’t remember that. My screener has expired so I can’t check, sadly.

The driver in a previous scene (at 56 minutes) is listed as Brendan, while Mike asks him for a bottle of water while leaning in the passenger window of the Mustang. Problem is it does not look like the Brendan in an earlier scene (at 49:30) Mike is not the driver earlier (56 min) and we can’t see clearly at the end. So, if anyone knows the answer, fill us in!!
How does H know where Jan lived and how was it he wasn’t killed by Bullet?
Because during the heist at the depot, after H kills Sam, he puts his ‘H’s phone into one of the money bags. Tracks his same phone later to know location of it. He survived the gunshots cause he was wearing a Caffler and probably got treated while Jan was still settling in

I think bullet and h were working together once they entered the depot. It didn’t show bullet shooting him. H told bullet about Dougie and bullet agreed to help h.
I love how the bad guys we’re going for the “mother load“ at the depot, only to have their plunder reduced steadily at each exit/escape phase… to a handful of money bags that fit in some small hatchback e-car!!
…I guess they should have just hit another single truck instead of losing all their lives maybe??

I recently rewatched the movie for the answer. Just before the mid way point just after the married couple is plastic bagged Mike goes out to see a guy from the crew in a mustang convertible. Just like the car in the final scene. It’s a member of H’s crew. Had a beard
