Mice are everywhere right now – first The Witches remake, then the furry interloper in episode 3 of the new season of The Crown, scuttling along the rug while Princess Margaret held forth – so maybe the upcoming Tom & Jerry: The Movie can ride that rodent wave.
Starring Chloë Grace Moretz, it’s a mix of classic animation and live action. I’ll admit I started off watching with my eyes like cartoon saucers though by the end of the trailer I thought it worked pretty well.

Tom & Jerry: The Movie also stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Michael Peña, Rob Delaney, Colin Jost and Ken Jeong, and is directed by Tim Story. It’s out – in UK cinemas! – in 2021.
Here’s the synopsis:
One of the most beloved rivalries in history is reignited when Jerry moves into New York City’s finest hotel on the eve of “the wedding of the century,” forcing the event’s desperate planner to hire Tom to get rid of him. The ensuing cat and mouse battle threatens to destroy her career, the wedding and possibly the hotel itself. But soon, an even bigger problem arises: a diabolically ambitious staffer conspiring against all three of them.
