We’ve finally got a trailer for one of this year’s most anticipated Christmas movies.
The festive romcom follows lesbian couple Harper and Abby as they navigate Christmas at Harper’s family home… hampered by the fact that she’s never actually told her family she’s gay. Abby is welcomed into the family fold as a “straight orphan”, while Harper struggles with hiding who she really is (literally, behind a door, when they’re interrupted in bed one morning by her dad).

Here’s the synopsis:
Meeting your girlfriend’s family for the first time can be tough. Planning to propose at her family’s annual Christmas dinner — until you realize that they don’t even know she’s gay — is even harder. When Abby (Kristen Stewart) learns that Harper (Mackenzie Davis) has kept their relationship a secret from her family, she begins to question the girlfriend she thought she knew. HAPPIEST SEASON is a holiday romantic comedy that hilariously captures the range of emotions tied to wanting your family’s acceptance, being true to yourself, and trying not to ruin Christmas.

Happiest Season is a Hulu Original and premieres on 25 November on Hulu. It’ll also be available to rent or buy in the UK from 26 November.
Happiest Season stars Kristen Stewart as Abby, Mackenzie Davis as Harper, Daniel Levy as Abby’s gay best friend John, who comes to rescue her, Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, Mary Holland and Burl Moseley. Best of all, Harper’s mum is played by MARY STEENBURGEN.
