NEW! Rocketman second trailer, plus featurette – and they sparkle

21st February 2019 by Sarah Leave a Comment

And it’s a trailer that’ll make you laugh, cry, order a million sequins then swear a lot trying to sew them on to your donkey jacket.

The song in the featurette is Tiny Dancer, which I know you’ll all be delighted about, what with it being the BEST Elton John song.

And it turns out that Egerton has got the Elton seal of approval as a singer of his tunes.

Check it out below, along with the new poster, the new, second trailer, and the first trailer from last autumn.

I did get quite emotional watching the second trailer, though it’s really funny too – as Elton asks lyricist Bernie Taupin whether he should have tried to be more ordinary, while wearing full length, scarlet wings, an orange satin jumpsuit and a sparkly horned headdress.

The movie is being billed as “a true fantasy” which hopefully will stop people complaining that they’ve used the wrong type of sequin.

Taron Egerton as Elton John, giving it some glitz

Rocketman stars Taron Egerton as Elton John, with Bryce Dallas Howard as his mother.

Richard Madden is manager John Reid with Jamie Bell as lyricist and writing partner Bernie Taupin.

It’s directed by Dexter Fletcher (who also directed Egerton in the wonderful Eddie the Eagle) and is out in the UK on 24 May, with the US following on 31 May.

Rocketman – that second trailer!
