Pooh may be a bear of little brain but so are his and Piglet’s victims, once they’ve been bashed over the head with an axe.
Yes Pooh and Piglet have gone to the dark side — now that A.A. Milne’s initial book about Winnie the Pooh is out of US copyright — in this upcoming horror from UK writer-director Rhys Frake-Waterfield. (Tigger, introduced in 1928, cannot yet be used as he’s still under copyright. God knows what he’ll get up to once he’s free. Maybe Tigger and Eyeore: Bounce And Moan? That could be any number of genres).
Here’s the synopsis:
Pooh and Piglet, abandoned by childhood friend Christopher Robin when he grows up, and are now feral. When the adult Christopher brings new fiancée Mary to the Hundred Acre Wood to find his friends, a murderous rampage ensues — just as a group of young women arrive to stay at a nearby house.

The trailer looks gloriously crackers, with hints of what might have happened (there’s a homemade Eyeore RIP gravestone) and several killings.
Winnie the Pooh: Blood And Honey stars Craig David Dowsett as Pooh Bear, Chris Cordell as Piglet, Nikolai Leon as Christopher Robin, and Paula Coiz as Mary. Co-starring are Amber Doig-Thorne, May Kelly, Natasha Tosini, Maria Taylor, and Natasha Rose Mills.
