One month to go before we head into the “endless void”, and there’s a new IMAX trailer for “Ad Astra”

*** my review is now live (slightly spoilery) ***

“The enemy up here is not a person or a thing. It’s the endless void.”

And I know just how Donald Sutherland’s character feels, two-thirds of the way through the school holidays.

Still, I managed to take a few minutes out of shouting at my kids to stop shouting at each other, to watch the third trailer for Ad Astra. (There’s also a new poster.)

Here’s the synopsis:

“Astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father and unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet.

His journey will uncover secrets that challenge the nature of human existence and our place in the cosmos.”

By the way that title is Latin, and means “to the stars”.

Tommy Lee Jones plays his dad, and Liv Tyler his (presumably  Earth-bound) wife. Ruth Negga also stars. Ad Astra is directed by James Gray and is out in the UK on 18 September and the US on 20 September. (You can see the two previous trailers here.)
