And then why not watch…
If you like entertainment about terrible events from multiple perspectives, it’s worth checking out an independent film called Breathe Easy, which was released in 2017. This indie looks at a world-ending event from different perspectives around the globe, with the different segments directed by 20 filmmakers in ten countries, the whole caboodle held together by British indie director Paul Mackie. Every section was self-sourced, produced and financed, with each “story” having a different tone. It’s a lumpy, bumpy, but really fascinating look at how differently we all react, because of where we live and the conditions we already exist under (the British ones are mostly about running out of booze, while round the world already-marginalised people hide from rioters). Check out my review of it here along with interviews with Mackie, director Stephen Nagel and actress Zoe Cunningham.
