The teaser trailer for INK has been released, to coincide with world premiere screening at the Venice International Film Festival last week, on the opening night of the 83rd Biennale Cinema.
The film covers the period when Rupert Murdoch bought The Sun, then a young but underperforming and rather worthy broadsheet, transforming it into a brash red-top tabloid with editor Larry Lamb at the helm.
Here’s the synopsis:
INK is an explosive cinematic rollercoaster about a group of visionaries and misfits who had an idea for a new kind of news – one that would give the people what they want and would change the face of the world we live in today. O’Connell stars as The Sun editor Larry Lamb with Pearce as Rupert Murdoch. Claire Foy is Jules Davies.
Directed by Danny Boyle, INK goes on release in the UK and Ireland cinemas on 8 January 2027. It’s based on the Tony-nominated play by multi-Olivier award-winning playwright and screenwriter James Graham, who also wrote the screenplay.
