Hobbs And Shaw second trailer: “tell me this is not happening…”

18th April 2019 by Sarah Cartland Leave a Comment

But it IS and I LOVE it.

A mystery virus, flying cars, Helen Mirren as your jailbird mum. “This ‘ole thing saans really dodgy” she proclaims, though the new second trailer for Fast And The Furious spin-off Hobbs And Shaw actually looks very daft and very funny (imagine if Bill and Ted did John Wick).

This time it’s all about faaamleeee, as Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) is ropes in all his brothers, and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) has to help his sister Hattie.

She’s a rogue MI6 agent, and has stolen a virus from “Black Superman”, genetically-enhanced, cyber anarchist Brixton (Idrus Elba) – and he wants it back.

That virus could wipe out half the population of Earth – viruses often claim to do this and I say go bigger Brixton, have the courage of your convictions. A virus that wipes out 99.9999999% of the population, leaving only you, me and someone who’s good at DIY, would be better.

In the last (first!) trailer we had the “walking down a building” stunt – this time it’s a whole chain of cars flying though the air, like an action movie version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Directed by David Leitch, Hobbs And Shaw also stars Vanessa Kirby as Hattie, and Eiza González as Madam M. It’s out in the UK and US on 2 August.

Watch the first trailer here (plus character posters from the film) and the second trailer below:
