Hello (Again) Christopher Robin!

7th March 2018 by Sarah Leave a Comment

*** Read my Christopher Robin review ***

We only said Goodbye Christopher Robin last year and now he’s back, sort of.

The 2017 movie looked at the life of AA Milne, the writer of the Winnie The Pooh books, and his own son, the real Christopher Robin whose name was used by his father in his stories.

This live action story from Marc Forster is about the grown up Christopher Robin from the books – who has lost his childhood view of the world as work intrudes on his relationship with his family – being visited by his furry friend.

This is just a teaser but it gives an idea of the feel of the film we should expect when it’s released in August 2018. Ewan McGregor is the adult Christopher Robin, who after seeing his wife and children off in a cab is startled to find Pooh behind his garden bench.

But what do we call this plethora of CRs: Christopher Robins? Christophers Robin, Christopher Robinses?

I’m looking forward to this, though I’ll admit I’m not a huge fan of literary bears – my mum read us Beatrix Potter instead, complete with kittens being made into suet puddings (which probably explains both my love of cats and my love of baking).

The movie also stars Hayley Atwell as his wife Evelyn; voice performers include Chris O’Dowd as Tigger, Sophie Okenedo as Kanga, and Jim Cummings as the voice of the bear. Altogether now…. “POOH???”
