One thing you’ll never get from me is a trailer reaction video as it takes so long for me to work out what’s happening in most trailers.
What with all the mumbling and incomprehensible plot twists where they don’t want to give too much away, I never have a clue what’s happening until I’ve watched it about five times. And I don’t really have time to watch a trailer five times. So a reaction video would be me looking quite bemused and making a shopping list in my head.
But I think I actually understood what was happening in this, the second Den Of Thieves trailer, partly as the characters say quite a lot about what kind of people they are, and what they are going to do, which is quite helpful.
So Big Den, I mean Big Nick Flanagan, is a Bad Cop who does things by the book as long as the book is called How Not To Be A Policeman.
He even says to the heist crew he’s after “do we look like the type who arrest you? We just shoot you.”
The bankrobbers seem to be, if not the good guys, then the less-bad guys. They’re going to rob the Los Angeles Federal Reserve, which has never been robbed before, and steal a lot of untraceable cash before it’s destroyed.
And they’re probably responsible for a whole host of unsolved bank robberies. (I’m basically telling you pretty much everything that’s in the Den Of Thieves trailer to prove I actually knew what was going on in the Den Of Thieves trailer. Despite all the mumbling, and there’s quite a lot of that.)
Den Of Thieves stars Gerard Butler, his two unfeasibly enormous arms, Curtis Jackson (50 Cent), Pablo Schreiber, O’Shea Jackson Jr, Evan Jones, Dawn Olivieri, and Mo McRae. The film is directed by Christian Gudegast.
Check the trailer out below – it should keep you going until the movie hits on 19 January (or 2 February if you live in the UK. They don’t tell you that on the posters, do they, oh no.)
