Cut some holly off next door’s bush, and get ready to pull a cracker – it’s Christmas movie season! Premiering exclusively on Roku on 1 November, this festive love story will get you jingling all the way…
Look I know I’m a miserably cynic the rest of the year but I JUST LOVE CHRISTMAS and you’re going to have to deal with it. I don’t care how bah humbug you are, I will drag you all kicking and screaming towards the festive season.
We’ve already had a trailer for Bob the cat’s Christmas movie, and now our first American filmic festive frolics have arrived in the form of the trailer for the upcoming Christmas in Carolina.
The big draw for this seasonal love story is that it reunites Family Matters stars Kellie Shanygne Williams and Darius McCrary. Family Matters remains the third longest-running non-animated U.S. sitcom with a predominantly African-American cast, though I had to google as I admit I’ve never heard of it – which could be because I’m British or could be because I hardly ever watch TV.
I am still thoroughly looking forward to Christmas In Carolina‘s festive shenanigans though.
Here’s the synopsis:
After losing her parents in a car accident, Elle (Joslyn Y. Hall), a career-driven investment banker, has given up on love and Christmas until she meets Wesley (David L. Rowell), a former NBA player and CEO of a small marketing firm. Impetuously, Wesley invites Elle home for Christmas in South Carolina with his family. With hesitation, Elle accepts and gets a much bigger present than she could ever have imagined!
All I can say is it had better be a huge new family and an even huger diamond.
The film is directed by Peggy Williams and written by Stacie Davis, and co-stars Jocelyn Y. Hall (Atlanta), David L. Rowell (Comp-li-cat-ed), and Terrence Shingler (Power).
