Good cod, a release date and poster for Fisherman’s Friends sequel

9th June 2022 by Sarah Leave a Comment

Not sure who was the snapper for this poster, but it looks mighty (Loch) Fyne.

The first film was a mixed haul, (hali)but I can say this for the Cornish sea shanty singers: they never sang out-of-tuna. This sequel sees them trying to build on their newfound fame — but will friendships flounder as they carp on at each other? Will the bream turn sour?

Here’s the synopsis:

The sequel charts the next instalment of the Fisherman’s Friends amazing and uplifting true story. Following the unexpected success of their debut album No Hopers, Jokers and Rogues we rejoin the world’s oldest ‘buoy band’ a year later struggling to navigate the pressures, pitfalls and temptations of their newfound fame. Lifelong friendships are put to the test as they battle the dreaded curse of the second album.

James Purefoy reprises the role of Cornwall’s hottest granddad Jim, with other returning cast members including Maggie Steed, Dave Johns, Sam Swainsbury, Jade Anouka and David Hayman. New faces in Port Isaac include Richard Harrington as new band member Morgan, Ramon Tikaram, Joshua McGuire and introducing Irish singer-songwriter Imelda May, in her debut acting role.

Meg Leonard and Nick Moorcroft make their directorial debut, directing from their screenplay co-written with Piers Ashworth.

Fisherman’s Friends: One and All is released in UK and Ireland cinemas on 2 September 2022.
