Who snapped their fingers? The Addams Family gets home entertainment release date

10th January 2020 by Sarah Leave a Comment

The Addams Family animated reboot came out last autumn with a topnotch voice cast, and while it didn’t reach the heights (to be fair, stratospheric) of the 1990s live action movies, it could be a fun half-term treat to watch from the comfort of your sofa. (You can read my 3-star review here.)

If you didn’t see it at the cinema, you’ll be able to check it out for yourself on 17 February (digital download) and on Blu-ray and DVD from 2 March (UK).

Wednesday (played by Chloe Grace Moretz) is the heart of the movie

The DVD and blu-ray releases also have the following features (the * below are never-before-seen bonus content):

  • Deleted and extended scenes*
  • Welcome to the family* – In this combined Making of/Character Profiles, we hear from the filmmakers and stars of The Addams Family about how the film came about, the animation process and insight into the characters.
  • Life of a scene* – From black & white storyboards and layouts to animation and lighting, follow along with filmmakers as they bring to life a scene from the movie.
  • Charades with Thing* – There’s nothing quite like a game of Charades with your friends. But what happens when the person giving the clues isn’t exactly a person? What if he’s just… a hand? On talent day, stars of the film are invited to play Charades with Thing. Talent goes head-to-head, competing to see who can guess Thing’s clues. Graphics reveal the answers and keep score for each player.
  • Addams Family throwback
  • “Haunted Heart” lyric video – performed by Christina Aguilera
  • “My Family” lyric video – performed by Migos, Karol G, Rock Mafia & Snoop Dogg

Morticia (Charlize Theron)

The film stars Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard, Nick Kroll, Bette Midler and Allison Janney, with Snoop Dogg as Cousin Itt. Read my 3-star review here.
