Curzon temporarily closes, increases focus on Curzon Home Cinema

18th March 2020 by Sarah Leave a Comment

The independent UK cinema chain Curzon has followed several other UK chains and announced it is temporarily closing due to COVID-19. It will shut its doors at close of play on Wednesday 18 March.

Curzon already run Curzon Home Cinema, and will be focussing on that for the foreseeable future.

CEO Philip Kanchbull said “We intend to keep our current distribution slate on their published release dates and look to increase audiences through Curzon Home Cinema. Theatrical screenings will follow as and when possible. Hirokazu Koreeda’s The Truth, starring Juliette Binoche and Catherine Deneuve, will launch this Friday on Curzon Home Cinema as planned.”

You can see their upcoming slate at the bottom of the page.

They are also working with a number of third party distributors to provide an outlet for their new and current film releases, as well as launching a number of exciting initiatives “to keep film fans entertained during the lockdown”.
