Blue Story out on download and DVD this April

18th February 2020 by Sarah Leave a Comment

*** my 4-star (non-spoilery) review is up now ***

The film – created, written, directed and narrated by award-winning UK music artist Rapman – follows best friends Timmy (Stephen Odubola) and Marco (Micheal Ward, winner of  this year’s EE BAFTA rising star award), who go to the same high school in Peckham but live in neighbouring London boroughs.

When Marco is beaten up by one of Timmy’s primary school friends the two boys wind up on rival sides of a never-ending cycle of postcode gang war in which there are no winners … only victims.

You can own the film on digital download on 13 April, and on DVD on 20 April 2020, pushed back slightly from its earlier March dates.

iTunes extras and DVD bonus features:

  • Rapman
  • The Cast Of Blue Story
  • The Making Of Blue Story
  • The Message Of Blue Story
  • The Blue Story

Plus these deleted and extended scenes:

  • Michael Dapaah And GB Gang
  • Killy And Madder Discuss Marco
  • Marco At Party – Extended
  • Love vs. Sex – Extended
  • Killy, Madder And YM Bonding
  • Killy And YM Sell Drugs
  • Boys On The Bus After Party – Extended
  • Madder And Killy Discuss Club Attack

The movie has been a big box office success in Britain, making over £4 million, despite it being removed from Vue cinemas after a brawl in Birmingham last November (read The Guardian article about it here).

I’ll be running a competition nearer the time – and reviewing the film, which I’m really looking forward to (I haven’t seen it yet).
