Created in 2018 by director Rita Osei to promote female excellence in film direction, 225 Film Club showcases excellent current narrative and documentary short film work by female and non-binary filmmakers, introduces directors and producers, and supports women in film.
Celebrating its seventh edition, 225 Film Club is now a well-established fixture in the British filmmaker calendar. Thanks to support from Melanie Hoyes, Director of Inclusion at the BFI, the Festival takes place in NFT3 at the BFI on Friday 5 December 2025 from 6pm, with the BEST SHORT FILM UK, BEST SHORT FILM INTERNATIONAL and the AUDIENCE AWARD announced on Friday 12 December 2025 (along with my usual mini reviews of all the shortlisted films).
