Welcome to the 225 Film Club Official Selection 2024!

4th November 2024 by Sarah Leave a Comment

Created in 2018 to promote female excellence in film direction, 225 Film Club showcases excellent current narrative and documentary short film work by female and non-binary filmmakers, introduces directors and producers, and supports women in film.

Whittling the short films down from 225 Film Club’s already-impressive longlists each year is never an easy task. Celebrating its sixth edition, 225 Film Club is curated and produced by director Rita Osei, and is now a well-established fixture in the British filmmaker calendar.

Thanks to support from BFI Inclusion Director, Melanie Hoyes, the Festival takes place in the newly refurbished NFT3 at the BFI on Thursday 5 December 2024 from 6pm, with the BEST SHORT FILM announced on Monday 9 December 2024 (along with my usual mini reviews of all the shortlisted films).

Scroll down to check out 2024’s fifteen shortlisted entries!
