Wake your kids up, the teasers for Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark are here

UPDATE 28 March 2019: Check out the new trailer for Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark

If you, like me, are terrified of horror films, then fear not! (Ha) – because a horror anthology for children is due out later this year.

Which means you can take your children with you to hold your hand and no one will know you’re a wuss.

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark looks like being exactly that, though while I was recoiling in horror from *Foot Girl* in the Big Toe clip, I suspect my 7 and 9 year olds will be made of sterner stuff.

Based on the kids’ horror book series of the same name written by Alvin Schwartz and illustrated by Stephen Gammell, the screenplay for these spooky segments was co-written by Guillermo del Toro, who also produced.

There are four clips released so far – they’re short (only 10 to 15 seconds each) but they give an idea of the terrors to come. Check them out below.

Or if it’s the middle of the night where you are, wait until morning and get your children to watch them with you.

Or if you don’t have children yet but are planning to, wait until you do then get them to watch them with you.

The film is out in the US on 9 August with an as yet unspecified UK release date.

The anthology is directed by André Øvredal and stars Zoe Margaret Colette, Michael Garza, Austin Zajur and Lorraine Toussaint.
