“These guns aren’t going to shoot themselves…” Of all the things I expected to see when I started watching the trailer for Pixie, Alec Baldwin as an Irish priest wielding a gun was not high on my list.
Still, it’s good to know that even in 2020 I can still be surprised.
If the movie – an Irish comedy heist film starring Olivia Cooke – matches up to the trailer, things bode very well for Pixie.

Here’s the synopsis – the trailer, and images from the film, are below.
Pixie (Cooke) wants to avenge her mother’s death by masterminding a heist, but her plans go awry and she finds herself on the run with two young men who are way out of their depth being chased across the Wild Irish countryside by gangsters. She has to pit her wits against everyone, taking on the patriarchy to claim the right to shape her own life.
The Pixie cut (sorry not sorry) opens in UK and Irish cinemas on 23 October 2020. It’s directed by Barnaby Thompson and also stars Ben Hardy, Daryl McCormack, Colm Meaney, Dylan Moran and Chris Walley.
