NEW trailer / poster for Come As You Are

21st June 2020 by Sarah

“Our sight may have faltered, our legs given out, but our boners stand tall and do us proud!”

The film, a remake of the 2011 hit Belgian comedy Hasta La Vista, is based on the experiences of Asta Philpot, who features in the film.

Here’s the synopsis:

Scotty, Mo and Matt, three young men with disabilities, flee their overbearing parents for a road trip to a brothel in Montreal that caters to people with disabilities, in order to lose their virginity and embrace their independence.

The trailer (below) is sharp, witty and unsentimental, and the film’s already mostly positive reviews would indicate that this isn’t an “all the jokes in the trailer” comedy – though we can all find out on July 17th. Or August 10th. Or August 17th. (Yes the release schedule is quite detailed, and all listed below.)

Come As You Are is directed by Richard Wong and stars Grant Rosenmeyer (Scotty), Hayden Szeto (Matt) and Ravi Patel (Mo), with Academy Award nominee Gabourey Sidibe as their jaded nurse driver. Janeane Garofalo and C.S. Lee are two of the concerned parents hot on their trail.

Originally destined for a wide theatrical release, the film will be available on Premium video on demand from Friday 17 July, with a digital download release on 10 August and a DVD release on 17 August. It’s being made available first on Premium Video on Demand on Curzon Home Cinema, then the following platforms: iTunes, Amazon, Google, Virgin, BT, Rakuten, Talk Talk and Chili TV.
