It’s time to thrown off the shackles of minimalism and magnolia and dig out the paint pots.

Chronicling a a year in the world of competitive and creative dog grooming, SXSW hit Well Groomed follows the lives of a group of dog lovers whose dedication to transforming their beloved poodles into living sculptures is bold, imaginative and eye-opening.
From South Carolina to California, New York to Arkansas, the film follows the group from their homes to large-scale dog grooming competitions and showrooms where their communities meet, discuss, and compete with technicolor exuberance. (It looks enjoyably crackers though I’d also like to know what the poodles think of it.)
Here’s the synopsis:
A vibrant dive into a colourful and glittery subculture of Americana, Well Groomed tells an extraordinary tale of pets, families, friendships and the glory of creativity through a bright prism of colour.
A shorter 60-minute version of the film debuted on HBO in December – now the longer, feature length version is being made available on digital and DVD (launching 21 July).
Well Groomed is directed by Rebecca Stern.
