Money Plane does look like the best kind of daft straight-to-digital action thriller, from back in the day when not every film went straight to digital (ie February). If it had been made in five years’ time it would have starred Gerard Butler.
And while I’m sure there are easier ways to steal a lot of money, it looks rather fun, with Kelsey Grammar playing a character called The Rumble, leading man Adam Copeland sporting a most impressive man-bun and a stewardess who can kick your head in.
The synopsis is both very brief and tells us everything we need to know:
A professional thief with $40 million in debt and his family’s life on the line must commit one final heist – rob a futuristic airborne casino filled with the world’s most dangerous criminals.
So I’m hoping it’s going to be a cross between Con Air and The Hustle.
Also, more one-sentence synopses like this one, please! I don’t need to know every plot detail in advance and the cast’s entire IMDB filmographies in brackets.
Money Plane is directed by Andrew Lawrence and stars ex-WWE player Adam Copeland, Kelsey Grammer, Denise Richards, Katrina Norman and Patrick Lamont Jnr.
It’s out on 10 July 2020 in the US, with no UK date as yet.
