Sky Original The Secret Garden is now coming to Sky and cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 23 October, having been bumped several times over the spring and summer due to the cinema shutdown.
It will also be available from the same date on NOW TV with the Sky Cinema Pass.

The Secret Garden tells the story of prickly 10 year old orphan Mary Lennox (Dixie Egerickx). She’s sent from India to to England to live with prickly old Uncle Archibald Craven (Colin Firth) in his country house, which is so large you can lose a child in it, and with grounds so large you can actually lose a garden.
Mary discovers her cousin Colin, shut away unwell in a wing of the house, and also meets local boy Dickon, who uses the secret garden’s restorative powers to heal the injured leg of Hector, a stray dog.
This adaptation has moved the story forward to 1947, post-WW2 and pre-Partition (Frances Hodgson Burnett’s novel is set at the beginning of the 20th century).

So only two months to wait – in the meantime I will busy myself with my lockdown garden, which has shrivelled back to its former unglory, as if the summer never happened (we wish!).
A song inspired by the film – also called The Secret Garden – is out on 7 September. It’s by Norwegian singer-songwriter Aurora and is being released by Universal Music Group.
