Home schooling driving you potter-y? Harry is here to help…

21st May 2020 by Sarah

Videos of stars reading all 17 chapters from Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone (Sorcerer’s Stone in the US) are being released each week on www.harrypotterathome.com – so far they are up to chapter 6, which was released yesterday.

A new chapter video is posted weekly, and there’s an audio-only version available free on Spotify. You can watch them all here (free registration required).

We may not yet have a sorting hat for annoying little bits of Lego, but HP can probably buy us some time for jobs, relearning Year 3 fractions, and unloading the dishwasher for the 15th time in a day. Check out the first six chapter “voices”, below.

Some of the best-loved faces from global entertainment, music and sport have lent their voices to the story.

  • Chapter 1 – ‘The Boy Who Lived’: Daniel Radcliffe
  • Chapter 2 – ‘The Vanishing Glass’: Noma Dumezweni
  • Chapter 3 – ‘The Letters from No One’: Eddie Redmayne
  • Chapter 4 – ‘The Keeper of the Keys’: Stephen Fry
  • Chapter 5 – ‘Diagon Alley’: Simon Callow, Evanna Lynch and Bonnie Wright
  • Chapter 6 – ‘The Journey from Platform Nine and Three-Quarters’: Jamie Parker and the cast from The Cursed Child
