Writer-director Nicholas Connor’s short film about young carers, Cotton Wool, is now available on Amazon Prime Video – and it has a new trailer, which you can watch below.
In the film, a single mother (Leanne Best) suffers a devastating stroke, leaving her teenage daughter (Katherine Quinn) and 7-year-old son (Max Vento) to care for her.
I reviewed Cotton Wool over a year ago, and when I was sent this new trailer today I was soon welling up – only to see on the screen, among the stars and quotes, “Max Vento had me in tears”: Caution Spoilers. So there you go, it hasn’t lost any of its power.
Cotton Wool has been nominated for 72 awards and won 45 of them. The new trailer is below, and the film is available to buy / rent from Amazon UK for only £1.99, not bad for a 38-minute film. You will need to factor in the tissues though.
You can read my review here (or the short version: “Connor has crafted an absorbing film of wonderful performances that is searingly honest, yet finishes on a note of realistic optimism”).
