TEASER TRAILER: Once Upon A Time In…Hollywood looks bright ‘n’ breezy

20th March 2019 by Sarah Leave a Comment

The short and bouncy teaser (below) is (mostly) much more lighthearted than I was expecting – featuring Bruce Lee (Mike Moh) fighting stuntman Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) dancing, and a snippet of a joint interview with Cliff and actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio).

We also get a very brief glimpse of Charles Manson (Damon Herriman).

Robbie looks incredibly wistful in her new poster. I have no idea how the movie will cover the Manson murders as the film’s synopsis is very focussed on the actor/stuntman side:

“A faded TV actor and his stunt double strive to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood’s Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles.”

Directed and written by Tarantino, the ensemble film also stars Bruce Dern as George Spahn, who let Manson and his followers stay on his ranch; the late Luke Perry; Damian Lewis as Steve McQueen; and Dakota Fanning as Squeaky Fromme, one of the “Manson family”.

The movie is out in the US on 26 July, with a UK release date of 14 August. It’s apparently premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in May (though we don’t get the official Cannes line-up until April).

Check out the Brad ‘n’ Leo poster and other images here.
