“Oh my god! Niiiice,” said my 9 year old when he saw me uploading these images. I agree with him, though I’m taking about Dev Patel, aka Sir Gawain, and he was probably admiring the horse.
The Green Night is a twist on the famous Athurian legends, with Sir Gawain up against the Green Knight, a giant played by Ralph Ineson. Chivalry honour, valour, a talking fox and lots of mist — the trailer promises much. You can check it out here — the film itself is out in US cinemas on 30 July but, alas, not until 6 August in the UK.
Here’s the synopsis:
An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, THE GREEN KNIGHT tells the story of Sir Gawain, King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to define his character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger.
