225 Film Club: Promoting Female Excellence In Direction
Created in 2018 to promote female excellence in film direction, 225 Film Club showcases current and past narrative and documentary short film work by female and non-binary filmmakers, introduces directors and producers, and raises money to support women in film.
The final programme, announced on Monday 31 October, screens at the BFI on Friday 9 December, with backing from BFI Inclusion. Prizes will be awarded to the BEST SHORT FILM and BEST MICRO SHORT FILM as chosen by a panel of outstanding industry judges, including veteran producer Esther Springer (Creators Inc).
The programme is curated by Director Rita Osei, who created 225 Film Club. Scroll down for the 225 Film Club 4 longlist — you can also get a feel for the initiative by checking out my round-up of the shortlist from 225 Film Club 3.
